About.

Diego Ramos-Meyer is a pianist, composer, and educator based out of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Born and raised in Washington, DC to a Costa Rican father and woke white mother, Diego has been drowning in a melting pot of different musical influences including jazz, funk, salsa, classical, and more. He began studying piano at the age of 7, and writing original pieces in high school. It became apparent that music would be an integral part of his life from that point on.

He then studied music at Amherst College, with a focus on jazz composition and performance. After graduating school, he moved to Brooklyn and has been playing the keys in various ensembles including Slow Fade (formerly known as Shower Thoughts) and is currently the keyboardist for Mal Sounds. He has been preparing the release of an upcoming EP called Swell, slated for release later this summer.

Diego has been teaching music to people of all ages for all of his adult life, but especially loves teaching piano technique and music theory. He has been giving private lessons in NYC for the last 4 years, including the last year and a half at the Natalia Huang Piano Studio. He loves working with children, and has gained extensive experience as a summer camp counselor/director as well as music instructor. He hopes to continue spreading knowledge and joy through the piano and through his songwriting voice
